Kidnap and Sabotage

Mission 230217/24

Whilst on our way to the nearby Kuiper belt aboard the USS Tyson, we received a distress call from Captain Soulstar aboard the USS Feynman, saying that the ship had lost its warp capability due to sabotage by one of their officers (Cmdr Korora). It seemed that Cmdr Korora had been forced to carry out the deed by someone who had kidnapped her girlfriend. As the kidnapping had taken place on Sarlea, it was suspected that it might be part of a larger threat to security.  As such we reversed our course and returned to Galileo Station.

On our arrival at Galileo Station, we searched Cmdr Korora's quarters for any clues that might relate to the kidnapping, but found nothing. However a data search of Cmdr Korora's records found that several people had recently accessed the files - two of which aroused our suspicions, namely Cadet Ptuh and a civilian Han Boshi. However following integration, we accepted their explanations as to why they had accessed Cmdr Korora's records.

We later received further information from Capt Soulstar implicating Han BoShi in the kidnapping. However by then Han Boshi had left Galileo Station and returned to his residence on Lyonesse Colony.

We beamed down to a location just outside Han Boshi's residence, from where we could hear him talking to someone on a com-link. From what we could hear, it seemed that he was talking to one of the kidnappers. We decided to stun Han BoShi and from the PADD he was using, determine the location of the kidnapper. What we hadn't anticipated, was that before we had a chance to interrogate Han BoShi, he seemed to disappear leaving an amount of "goo" on the floor. Analysis of the goo determined it to be organic - from which we concluded that we had been dealing with a shapeshifter !

Having managed to obtain the location of the kidnapper from the discarded PADD, we set off to what turned out to be an abandoned building complex. Scanning the area we discovered two life signs and approached carefully. We discovered they were Cmdr Koona's girlfriend and the "real" Han BoShi, both of whom must have been kept there for some time as they were showing signs of dehydration and hunger. As such we arranged for them to be beamed direct to Sickbay.
