Commissioning Ceremony and Tour of the USS Einstein – 230415

 "This afternoon we will be commissioning a new starship."
"I say those few words knowing they cannot at all describe the tremendous amount of work and effort that has gone into the creation of this ship, from its first inception, to blueprints and diagrams, schematics of every deck, the many conduits, power couplings and ladders that are interlaced to create this vessel of exploration."
 "The physical manifestation of this starship began with an idea, and came to reality through the expert hands of Captain Alia Soulstar and her sidekick in systems design, Mr Han BoShi. Together they laboured over the construction, from the first deck to the last replicator, their work is supreme. To them, and their team, I say, 'well done'."

Glances to David. "Once a starship is completed, it sits empty until a crew and captain is assigned to it."

 "These must be hearty people and people of good heart. Federation citizens, trained at Starfleet Academy, to do all manner of work, from cleaning the bussards to serving meals in the mess, to firing torpedoes off the starboard bow."
 "From first to last, stalwart souls willing to trust their lives to a ship and a captain who will take them boldly where they have never been before."

"It shall henceforth be known as the USS Einstein, an Intrepid Class Light Explorer (similar to Voyager)."
 "A fine name for a proud ship. A name that carries a legacy of curiosity and imagination."
 "As the starship’s given name suggests, scientific exploration and discovery will be at the heart of its missions (which will take place on Mondays starting at 12.00 noon grid time)."
"As Sector Commander for Lyonesse, I am pleased to announce the following officers are assigned to the first deployment of the USS Einstein:
Commodore David7 Bravin - Commanding Officer
Niavri Zela - Science Officer
May Spring - Science Officer
Pf’tt the Great - Security Officer
Salsa Tinkerbell - Medical Officer
Slash Goddard - Operations Officer"
 "I now call upon Commodore Bravin to take the Captain's Oath."
 Keely Scrumptious smiles to him. "David, we have a long history together. Through thick and thin you have demonstrated devotion and diligence in duty. I am proud to be the one assigning you this command. I know you will manage your ship and crew with wisdom and care, I know you will seek out new life and new civilizations, and add to our knowledge of space, time and relativity."

David7 Bravin: "Having assumed command of the USS Einstein, I hereby give the Captain's Oath -
 I solemnly swear to continue to uphold the regulations of Starfleet Infinity and the laws of the United Federation of Planets.
I will command the USS Einstein to my best ability in its forthcoming missions
 to explore strange new worlds,
to seek out new life and new civilisations,
to boldly go where no one has gone before".
Keely Scrumptious: "Computer, Transfer command of the USS Einstein to Commodore David7 Bravin. Authorization Scrumptious Nine Two Five Bravo Zero."
Computer beeps: RPP> Transfer Complete
Keely Scrumptious: "The Commodore will now say a few words."

 

David7 Bravin: "Thank you Admiral for those kind words (smiles)........
As the Admiral said earlier .......we have a long history together  -  that goes back for well over 11 years ..........
She was my tutor at the Starfleet  Academy when I was a Cadet - and then my Commanding Officer once I graduated...........
Over those many years, as well as being Starfleet Officers -  we have become good friends" (looks at the Admiral and smiles).
Keely Scrumptious: (smiles back)
David7 Bravin: "Like the Admiral, I too would like to thank the builders of the USS Einstein - Captain Alia Soulstar and Han Boshi..........
As with the Admiral - Alia and I also have an 11 year history, in that upon my graduation, as the Medical Officer, she gave me my medical examination to make sure I was fit for duty.  (smiles).
I have been a Science Officer and a Commanding Officer over those many years - so I am looking forward to commanding a dedicated Science Starship - the USS Einstein - and meeting with the crew.
As the ship's first Captain, it was a privilege to be given the opportunity to choose a name for the ship......
It didn't take me long to decide to name the ship after perhaps the greatest Scientist we have known - Albert Einstein.
I hope you will all enjoy a tour of the USS Einstein later.
I would like to thank you all for coming here today - both old friends and new - especially those of you that have traveled here from other grids".  

Keely Scrumptious lifts her glass of champagne, "It is a proud day to launch another Starfleet Infinity vessel. Let us raise a glass to the USS Einstein and wish her all the best as she sets out on her first mission!!"
