Welcome aboard

Chief Science Log: Stardate 230113

Today I met with Captain Maven (my new Commanding Officer) along with other senior crew members of the USS Tyson, aboard the Galileo SpaceStation.

Captain Maven gave me the task of verifying that all the Space Station's Science Labs were fully equipped to process samples and to verify any biological samples are contained. Once completed I was to re-calibrate the Space Station's long range sensors.

I proceeded to the Science Labs, which I found were very impressive.
However some of the plant specimens required extra hydration and the air filters in the flying insect enclosure needed changing ....and as regards the quality of the water in the mollusc tank !!!!
I shall be speaking with the Lab Technicians, who have obviously been neglecting their duties.

On the positive side, I found that all the biological specimens were safely contained and the labs seemed to be fully equipped and ready to process any samples.

I then proceeded to the Space Station's Deep Space Comms, where I tasked two Officers with the job of re-calibrating the long range sensors.
I returned within the hour and checked that the necessary re-calibrations had been satisfactorily completed.

I provided Captain Maven with my report before taking a break from my duties.
