Personal log SD230116
Nila sh’Varess, Personal log: Stardate 230116. Yesterday I had my first bridge duty shift aboard the USS Feynman since we arrived in the Ircassian system. Everything went well, except that we were briefly caught in a stasis field; the main effect was that our warp drive was temporarily inoperative. Luckily we were not caught long and everyone remained calm. I have a good feeling about the crew; we seem to work very well together.
Afterward, I joined some of my crewmates in 10-Forward for some dancing and relaxing. It was nice to be able to socialize a bit and get some exercise at the same time; especially after sitting for so long. My crewmates are pretty friendly and everyone seemed to have a good time. After dancing and having a simple meal, I retired to my quarters.
There, I recorded a message for my family. I am looking forward to getting a message from them soon. It's always great to see how everyone is doing, especially the kids since so much can change in so little time. Since I have been in Starfleet we are pretty used to having to communicate by message instead of real-time much of the time, depending on my assignment. I am lucky to have such supportive spouses.
