After the change of command ceremony, the first order of business was to have my crew evaluate the station's condition and ensure there were no surprises before XO Soulstar and I had to report to Admiral Scrumptious.

In general, Galileo Station seemed to have been maintained in good order, but a few of my team's findings were concerning.

Doctor Marcus found that the inoculations and medical checkups were going slower than planned, but I know she is doing her best with the resources available, and pressuring her won't help. She is a highly competent officer and does not need me breathing down her neck.

My Chief Science Officer, Commander Bravin, did find some deficiencies in his area.  It does seem that some of the personnel were rather slack in making sure that scheduled maintenance was being carried out. Commander Bravin seems to have this in hand to ensure that all outstanding maintenance is completed.  I do not want Admiral Scrumptious' first view of our science labs to be dirty tanks. Commander Bravin has also finished recalibrating our sensors, and I am confident of our ability to keep an eye on things out to a distance of about 50 LY.

Engineer Nova419's report was slightly concerning.  It appears that our supply of deuterium has been allowed to reach a level of 30%.  As deuterium is used to fuel the reactor, all our own small craft, and any visiting ships that require reactant, this is not critical, but it is concerning.  I have ordered the Chief Operations Officer to undertake missions to the system's gas giants to recover Deuterium and replenish our supply to a level of 80%.  I expect this to be completed within fifteen days and thereafter when our supply drops to 70%.

Chief Barborosa has reviewed our offensive and defensive status, and weapons appear to be operational.  Some torpedos have been expended, and I intend to send a message to Starfleet Command and request a tender be sent to replenish our stock.  I intend to review the logs and find out how the station got into this situation.  We are far from immediate help if a situation were to arise and I want to ensure that the station and the colony can operate for extended periods if necessary.  I am having the security team deploy our limited supply of transphasic torpedos.  In their wisdom, Starfleet provided use with forty-eight, enough to put eight in each of our defensive satellites.  The transphasic torpedos will be highly effective against any foes that use rapidly modulating shielding.
