Stardate 230113
As of 0800 hours this morning, I reported for duty as Chief of Intelligence. Currently the branch chiefs of the USS Tyson are dual-billeted with Galileo Station until we can fully staff up. While the Tyson's in the hands of Engineering after its long trip out from Sector 001, the senior staff is getting the station ready to commence full operations as the anchor of Starfleet's presence in this sector block.
My first shift was entirely routine:
I’ve uploaded sector maps to the Intel consoles, cross-linked all intelligence and sociological reports to the relevant planets and systems, performed a threat analysis and priority ranking of known species, identified several targets for further socio-technical data collection from long range probes, until we can deploy covert teams. I’m currently integrating un-indexed reports from traders and nonaligned travelers, to assemble a comprehensive political picture of the sector block.
Which is a fancy way of saying we don’t know much, and we need about ten times the investigative capacity we’ve got right now, so I’m prioritizing ruthlessly.
I also verified the operations of internal sensors and our monitoring capacity in secure locations: the station is immense, and even the full crew of a Galaxy-class ship are rattling around inside it. Not that we expect stowaways or saboteurs, but since our Security staff is prioritizing readiness of our external defences, Intel can pick up the slack on internal security (since we don't have frak-all else to do until we get agents and probes out in the field).
Internal sensors are functioning at optimal capacity. Side note: remind the Ops Chief to have a word with Cadet Dingus about personal hygeiene. Eew.

Earth humans mask their pheromonal messaging in the scents of flora and animal fats. This practice has an analogue on my planet: the snout rat performs a similar caprice. What you call hygiene—Chief of Intelligence Quandrii—we call deception…
Hence the discovery, or better the non-discovery of any Torpedoes left on the Station, T’Mari immediately ordered the replicators for new supply of Photon Torps.
The Quantum Torpedoes however will take longer, as we can’t replicate any of them with out own replicators, we need to receive a supply of them from another Star Base, I can only hope they will arrive any time soon now.
For the moment we have to count on our Phasers and powerful shields for our defence, hoping we will not be under any attack till they might arrive.
Barbosa out.
Supplemental Log: I have heard rumors Captain Roffo on the USS Shogun, who will arrive in approx 2 weeks from now, will carry a supply of Q Torps for our Station, right from Sector Alpha.
