Born in Shikahr on Vulcan to a Human father and Vulcan mother. Father, Dr. John G. Markus having practiced medicine on Earth, went to Vulcan to study healing at the Vulcan Science Academy, where he met and later married T’Pel, a healer. They had two children, a son Stonn and a daughter T’pau. Mother and son (aged 10) were both killed in a transport accident. Following this tragedy, Dr Markus left Vulcan and returned to his parent’s home on Earth with his daughter (aged 3) in order that they could help with her upbringing.
Educated in Edinburgh, Scotland. Went to Edinburgh University Hospital to study medicine, graduating with honours. Went on to practise medicine in Edinburgh with her father and his partner Dr. Donald Mallard (aka Ducky) for 6 years before deciding to join Starfleet at the age of 30.
Has had a distinguished Starfleet career serving as a Chief Medical Officer and a Commanding Officer – having achieved the rank of Commodore.
Has recently left Starfleet in the Gamma Quadrant to join Starfleet Infinity in the Alpha Quadrant.
