MISSIONS
New recruits are encouraged to write their own backstory within the time/place context of our simulation. After basic training, crew are assigned to long term stations around the bridge. Those positions include Captain and First Officer, Helm, Operations, Tactical, Engineering, Science and Intelligence. Alien, guest and civilian roles can also be included in any given mission if required by the story that week. The Starfleet Academy provides 24/7 resources for players to improve their canonical and procedural knowledge in their positions. Officers who show aptitude are given opportunities to move into senior roles and lead missions. Missions are pre-scripted in a skeletal form then group-written in play through in-character improvisation. We encourage players to keep Ship, Captain and Personnel Logs to record their missions.

Captain Maven says of her ship, "Tyson is a state of the art starship based at Galileo Station, a remote Federation Starbase tethered to a water planet in the far flung Ircassian System. We are the cartographers of discovery."

Lyonesse

Federation Outpost

Lyonesse Colony, Eridian Archipelago, Sarlea, Ircassian System. KMT-2016-BLG-1107L, Class O, 97% oceanic, 5820km r,
Admiral Keely Scrumptious
Sector Commander

+>

Lyonesse Sector lies 471 light years from Earth on the Scutum-Centaurus galactic arm within the Alpha Quadrant. One of the several planetary systems in the Sector—lying just a light year or two spinward from the Sector border—is Sarlea, named after the inhabitants of Ircassia-5, a Class O water planet. The system's location gives the Federation access to great swaths of unexplored space and features numerous anomalies and nebulas of interest.

Lyonesse Colony was established on Sarlea Prime in 2384. It sits on Tygresse Island at the tip of the Eridian Archipelago, surrounded by Sarlea's vast Sea of Serendipity. Starbase Sarlea is located at Lyonesse Colony and serves as the ground command and headquarters for Starfleet Infinity, in liaison with the Commanding Officers of Galileo Station and the starships deployed here. It offers a wide variety of services and support. The first convoy arrived in 2382, ship building began and the first modules and structures were placed on the planet surface according to plans drawn up light years away.

The Sector and Colony is commanded by Admiral Keely Scrumptious, a veteran of deep space exploration and an ex-starship captain. Along with its teams of scientists—astronomers, physicists, exobiologists, xeno-linguists, archeologists, etc—Lyonesse experimentally includes a strong core of artists, writers, composers and musicians, founding an arts community of Federation species at the edge of known space. The ideas behind this bold and unusual step have never been fully explained beyond a vague mission statement of creating a cultural outpost to harmonise and balance the pure sciences and practical engineering flavour that typifies other Federation colonies in their start-up phase. Generational colonies tend to develop this kind of balance over time. Lyonesse was seeded to accelerate its evolution.

Although they have been members of the Federation for only a few years, most Sarleans applauded the placement of the colony on their planet and feel their families and children will be better off with the protection of Galileo Station in orbit around their planet. Those who would prefer a more independent government are few but sometimes vocal.

Curiously, although the Sarleans claim they have lived on the planet for centuries and evolved themselves similar to humans, there are few remains or historical texts for most of that history. And linguistically their natural language is acoustically different than many others and has more vowels, particularly deep tones.

Part of the mission of Starbase Sarlea will be to study archeology and linguistics in the Lyonesse Sector and beyond.

Galileo

Helenic Class Starbase | SS066

Galileo is Commanded by Captain Maven, one of Starfleet's most distinguished officers, with Captain Soulstar—known for her strategems and military exploits in the "Green Man" campaign—as Executive Officer.

+>

Galileo Station is a giant! A state of the art Helenic Starbase, one kilometre in diameter and three kilometres high, spanning 18 floors. Its internal spacedock can hold a Galaxy class vessel with ample room for a flotilla of shuttlecraft, worker bees and other vessels.

Powered by D-Beam Driven Inertial Confinement Fusion, its deuterium cold fusion reactor pumps out 7.2 × 1013 joules per cycle. High energy PW lasers bombard a converter plate from multiple angles in front of the ICF target, creating an intense deuteron ion beam that ignites fusion in a central core. The formation of ultra-high density D-clusters feed and accelerate the reaction resulting in helium plasma, which is routed through a series of superconducting magnetic coils and fed into the station’s electro-plasma system. Galileo lights up the night as she orbits Sarlea.

The station's spine is a central nervous system of conduits and service ducts radiating from the Level 5 Data hub. The hull contains a control centre, operations and command level, spacious living quarters, a park and velodrome and other leisure facilities including holodeck. A vast bioengineering and science level looks over water turbines and gardens. Deep Space Comms run arc-scanning of shallow and deep fields continuously, monitoring all populated frequencies and locating new technological civilisations out to the farthest reaches of the Milky Way Galaxy.

Transportation around the station includes three turbolifts and a network of personal transporter devices spread throughout the structure. Buoying an arsenal of outer hull defensive systems are a self-repair Gate Keeper defence ring controlled by the Blink Artificial Intelligence seek and destroy network.

Come Fly With Me...

We are not the only Star Trek roleplay group in the uni-metaverse, but...
• we are well resourced with huge, well made, state of the art starships and space stations, and vast dedicated immersive roleplay regions,
• we are a community of players (I hesitate to use the cliché "family" but that is an approximation of the vibe—fellow players who are friendly, helpful, empathetic),
• we are well structured but we don't condone pointless ambition or power-gaming (call me Captain, Ma'am or the dreaded Sir out of play and I will show you my back and pat your dog).

We have missions days and times to choose from and we will do our best to fit you into your preferred branch on one of our ships. And we have an active programme to build and launch new ships when the demand for seats outstrips supply. We have a colony that runs open-ended civilian roleplay in a range of the sciences and arts, a xeno-archaeological excavation, an art gallery with regular exhibitions, a writer's group and a programme of TED-style talks called "Boldly Go Trekking" where guest speakers share their futuristic insights.

Just follow the warp trails...
