The crew began to scan the region of the dark nebula to determine the overall size and nature of the region. Our science officer Dr Passerine did a series of detailed scans that determined there was a dwarf star at the heart of the anomaly which generated the high levels of radiation and the pronounced gravitic shear the ship experienced once we approached.<\/p>\n
A course was plotted to get us within the margin of the boundary and the star\u2019s event horizon within the nebular cloud.\u00a0 Our shields were able to protect the ship from the majority of the region\u2019s effects while we conducted a scan for the missing ship.<\/p>\n
The Khrasaya was located within this area and we were able to transport off the survivors and provide them with medical assistance. One of the crewmembers expired due to their injuries while we were back en-route to Kepler Station.<\/p>\n
Prior to our departure from the area, a shuttle was located outside of the nebular boundary. It belonged to the Khrasaya and had sustained a great deal of damage. LCDR Guyot, Dr Passerine and myself transported to the shuttle. No survivors were located, and I was able to get a core dump from the shuttle\u2019s computer systems before returning to the ship.<\/p>\n
We made thorough scans of the area to relay to Starfleet Astrometrics and left warning buoys to mark the region until it can be properly documented on starcharts<\/p>\n
